One of THE MOST ridiculous scenes in movie history?

Check it out as you can actually see the cold moving in for the freeze giving heros enough time to, wait for it, outrun it? WTF!
This is just plain silly and stupid.
Doesn't the cold just blanket everything at once and I'm pretty sure it would move faster and you wouldn't see it.

And wait, it gets even dumber. 
Like closing a door on it somehow slows it down even though the room is going to be the very same temperature as the outside of the room?
The door should not slow it down. 
The whole room should freeze instantaneously at once. 
Right?
