I would likely watch it if Neve Campbell is there as I think she's pretty much the core of the movies in my mind (plus, it never hurts I think she stands out in overall attractiveness in general which not many pull off
) even though some might think Wes Craven/Neve Campbell combo is the core. but personally I don't think Wes Craven being the director is as important to the movies as Neve Campbell is.
but at the same time... one could say the series has ran it's course.
I am generally not a fan of slasher/horror movies but Scream series (and a small amount of other stuff) is a exception for me as I mildly like each movie...
in fact, I initially viewed the first movie back around the time it was new on video (I originally taped it off the cable TV to VHS tape with one of those black boxes that de-scramble the cable TV signal for the premium channels
; this was likely sometime in 1997 (maybe 1998 tops)) and liked it and re-watched it here and there for a while at the time and then kind of never had a urge to see it again and I might have seen a little of the 2nd(maybe 3rd(?)) movie on basic cable TV back around the early-to-mid 2000's or so and that was it, I never seen the 4th Scream movie. then after some years passed I viewed Skyscraper (2018) in Aug 2018, which Neve Campbell was in (it's mainly a Dwayne Johnson(i.e. The Rock) movie), and after seeing that, it perked my interest to give the Scream series another chance since Neve Campbell's attractiveness in that Skyscraper (2018) movie caught my attention and a day later I started seeing the entire Scream series and I mildly like each one now...
in fact, when I was watching Skyscraper (2018)... I initially did not even know that was Neve Campbell from the Scream series but she looked familiar to me and she grabbed my attention because she stands out in attractiveness and then I noticed after looking the movie up online to see who she was, the name Neve Campbell was listed and then I immediately thought something like, 'she's the one from the scream series back-in-the-day' and that's what perked my interest to give the Scream series another chance, which also got me to see the 4th Scream movie for the first time (I want to say the 4th Scream movie is one of the better entries to the series, but at the same time I don't have any clear preference of the series as I mildly like each one). because as I have mentioned before around here... I think Neve Campbell got more attractive after she aged a bit as you can see a noticeable improvement in her overall level of attractiveness when comparing say the first few Scream movies, which are in the 1996-2000 time frame, compared to Scream 4 (2011)/Skyscraper (2018).

I can easily see why you said that as I would likely have thought similarly if it where not for Neve Campbell being in the movies as I think she's ultimately why the series has re-watch value for me. but her aside... short of fans of the general series, I imagine only the first one might be something a more casual person may want to check out if they have at least some interest in slasher/horror types of movies. but I suspect if someone does have a interest in those kinds of movies, they have probably already seen the series since I would imagine they are more known than most others.

I watched the first one not that long ago, it was ok but i have no interest in watching any of the others.
