When The Program was released in 1993, the film included a scene in which college football players attempted to prove their toughness by lying on the yellow dividing line of a street as vehicles whizzed past them on either side. The studio apparently never anticipated that their main target audience for the movie, impressionable teenagers, would get the idea of copying the stunt. After two deaths and several injuries, the scene was cut from theatrical showings and home video versions of the movie.
