Practically every movie ever made claims to have deep and subtle subtext. Whether they do or they don't, it doesn't make it a good or bad movie. I had someone completely seriously argue that Dude Where's My Car was a deep and probing movie about modern society. Well why wouldn't they? And how could you not see that yourself? what are you? blind or something...you are damn fool my friend a god damn fool.
