I am currently working on a Cinematic World Trip, and for Australia I watched Wake in Fright. That was pretty intense. An interesting fact about Wake In Fright was it was considered a lost film for many years having fallen into complete obscurity since its release date in 1971, that was until the negatives of the film were found in a bin marked for destruction ( shudders). Luckily the film was saved and restored so it could be rightly seen and hailed as the modern Australian masterpiece it is. |
