You're notes about My Name is Julia Ross have convinced me to check it out (since I know were to find it).
It was mentioned in Doug McLellands "The Golden Age of B Movies" with movies made in the 1940s, and that is where I first heard about it. The book is about movies that is far better than their budgets, not making cheap jokes about them.
