Everyone just forgot about his earlier work after his streak of bad movies started. Frailty, Amistad, A Time to Kill, Thirteen Conversations About One Thing etc.
Yeah he was always a good actor, but just kept doing all those romantic comedies for years and not really showcasing his talent.
