1. Do you Like the Movie "ALIENS".....Yes or No ?
2. What is your Number 1 Favorite Scene from it ?
3. Who is your Favorite Character in it ?
1. YES. This is one of my all-time favorite movies of any genre. I also think it's one sequel that outdoes the first movie. The first movie was ahead of its time in every aspect, but the sequel was bigger and better with everything more than the first film. I don't think they've made a movie quite as awesome as this movie since 1986. At least not in the action-horror genre. Actress Sigourney Weaver returns for the sequel after coming off the success of "Ghostbusters" (1984). Actor Michael Biehn and Lance Henriksen along with director James Cameron come off of the success of "The Terminator" (1984) and join the Alien franchise. Actor Bill Paxton also joins the cast coming off the success of "Weird Science" (1985). Not to mention the rest of the ensemble cast of co-stars. This sequel was the dream team of science-fiction/horror coming together. I normally don't think in terms of something being the best or number one, but this movie should be that high-up on everybody's favorite list. This movie was a bit before my time, but I do remember being a kid and seeing fans insane for this movie's release. So much that lines were going around buildings, for people going back in to watch the movie a second, third, fourth time.
2. My favorite scene in the movie is the slow introduction of the Alien Queen. That introduction in the alien egg field with Ripley and Newt eyeing the giant animatronics puppet figure of the Queen was as haunting as it gets. I think I read somewhere that it took up to 12 crew members to work and control the entire Alien Queen's movements for that scene, operating it's body movements and facial expressions. Even the scene before that one, of Ripley arming herself with every piece of ammunition she can carry; it's classic heroine stuff. I know Sigourney Weaver's portrayal as Ripley in this movie, inspired so many women, some who went on to become actresses. What's funny, is the role of Ripley was originally written for a man; showing you the veracity of Weaver's acting abilities. And Newt, played by actress Carrie Henn, still continued to get asked for her autograph by students in Henn's later profession as an educational teacher.
3. My favorite character is Hudson, played by Bill Paxton. Which isn't an easy choice to make, as Ripley is such an inspiring and excellent written character for any science fiction story. Hudson just played that perfect comic relief for such a serious, gory, rated-R roller coaster ride. In my opinion, you could have never had another actor deliver the performance he gave. It was nice to see him carry that into his future movies like "Near Dark" (1987), "Predator 2" (1992), "Trespass" (1992), "True Lies" (1994) and many other dozens of roles after. Actor Bill Paxton was one of my favorite actors of all-time, I basically watched every movie he appeared in just for his underrated performances in every role he took on. As many excellent scenes as there was in this movie, Hudson does snag nearly all of the best quotes in the movie.
Paxton was the only actor to have been killed by a Terminator, an Alien, a Predator, the Grim Reaper and a serial killer. He meant a lot to the science fiction entertainment movie business and will sorely be missed. RIP Bill Paxton (1955-2017)
When I think of aliens existing in the world today, I don't think about green little men with big eyes and big heads flying in frisbee looking saucers. I think of aliens as vicious and as violent as this, ready to impregnate our chests or rip us to shreds.
