When I think of old school master Walter Lang, I think of films that were handsome, sturdy and professionally mounted, like those of George Sidney who drew heavily from Lang's work (as well as that of Englishman Robert Stevenson). And Lang produced some enduring favourites from decade to decade, cementing his artistic reputation through sheer force of talent.
Among those films highlighted, 'Cheaper By The Dozen' is a delight, and I'm hoping to revisit 'Desk Set' some time soon.
'Love Before Breakfast' (1936) is on my to-see wishlist.
