Coincidently, Salz, yesterday I was just looking at old news articles from my place of residence (Pacific Northwest) on a history link site and stumbled on a category called "Curiousities" with lots of weird and spooky true stories from this area. One of my favorites was a ghost sighting at a Capitol Hill church that is supposedly haunted by an old pioneer preacher and his wife. One sighting said the ghost of the wife asked him "How do I get out of here?" He pointed at the door... But instead, she floated out of a window. I don't know why but that made me laugh. Excellent! I love news sites with “curiosities” sections…but then I’m a sucker for any odd history and folklore! (“I know, my dear Watson, that you share my love of all that is bizarre and outside the conventions and humdrum routine of daily life”). Unfortunately, I haven’t heard that many good Pacific Northwest ghost stories and/or folklore, other than Bigfoot, so if you have any more, I’d love to hear ’em! Though, of course, there’s always this: zapatopi.net/treeoctopus/That is a funny story. “Nah, doors are for mortals.” Sadly, there aren't that many good ones from this area. Though, the PNW is often portrayed as being the spookiest place on the planet in popular fiction. I have always thought this was somewhat unfair, though there is an undeniable mystic atmosphere here. There was a famous local mystery here that was solved in 1948 that I was also reading about yesterday. But it's not so much the mystery that is memorable but some really bizarre and tragic coincidences that followed it. I'll go grab the link and write a quick paraphrase of it...
