Playwright and screenwriter Terrence McNally has died at the age of 81.

At the Tony Awards in 2019 when he accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award he said, "Theater changes hearts, that secret place where we all truly live. The world needs artists more than ever to remind us what truth and beauty and kindness really are."
Thanks for your wonderful works of art, Mr. McNally. May you rest in peace.
