Folklore, Fables, and Things that Go Bump in the Night

Sadly, there aren't that many good ones from this area. Though, the PNW is often portrayed as being the spookiest place on the planet in popular fiction. I have always thought this was somewhat unfair, though there is an undeniable mystic atmosphere here. 

There was a famous local mystery here that was solved in 1948 that I was also reading about yesterday. But it's not so much the mystery that is memorable but some really bizarre and tragic coincidences that followed it. I'll go grab the link and write a quick paraphrase of it…
