It's like pneumonia, it scars your lungs. And re-infection with covid 19 happens, meaning that catching it once doesn't necessarily give someone immunity through antibodies. In fact it's lethality increases with each infection you get. The evidence on immunity seems to be a bit sketchy still. Some reports are claiming people have built up immunity but other reports are saying people are getting re-infected. I'm guessing it depends on the person or maybe they contracted different strains of coronavirus. The fact that re-infection occurs could mean no vaccine is possible. It could continue to hit humans until and if it hits a genetic mutation able to tolerate it. Everyone else would eventually succumb.
