The evidence on immunity seems to be a bit sketchy still. Some reports are claiming people have built up immunity but other reports are saying people are getting re-infected. I'm guessing it depends on the person or maybe they contracted different strains of coronavirus.

The fact that re-infection occurs could mean no vaccine is possible.

It could continue to hit humans until and if it hits a genetic mutation able to tolerate it. Everyone else would eventually succumb.
