Temple of Doom is far from being a stinker. 7.6 on IMDb and 85% on RT and it made over 300 million in profit! Some folk didn't quite get how dark thematically it was, bold show from Spielberg. I find it the cheesiest, most gimmicky and silly of them all, wasn’t bold just misguided. Never bring up profit as a plus in here or you will be banished to an eternity of watching the transformers sequels in hell Yep, child kidnapping and child slavery is cheesy and misguided Profit is relevant, it was the highest grossing film of 1984 (the 10th highest grossing film of all time at that time), and a PG13 at that, we are not talking about a film heavily reliant on CGI like the Transformer films and their ilk in the new millennium! It was a different era of film making, and funny enough it's easily the earliest film on your list of so called stinkers. If your definition of a stinker is quite simply that you don't like something, in spite of the financial, rating and critical facts clearly stating otherwise, then that's obviously your prerogative, but I'm sorry but that's a misguided guideline if ever there was one.
