A mentally ill man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to dig up what he believed to be Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna's grave.
The NBA legend, 41, and his second child died in a helicopter crash on January 26 with nine others, including two other children. The Bryant's were laid to rest together at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar at a private funeral.
Kobe fans had flocked to what they believed to be burial site at the cemetery which was decorated with yellow and purple flowers, the Lakers' colors. However, cemetery officials later confirmed that the Bryant's had been buried at an unmarked plot.
Shortly after noon on March 15, Newport Beach Police arrested a 28-year-old man for digging at the grave-site which many fans had mistaken for the Bryant's'.
