Before you get yourself fined another credit for violation of the verbal morality statute again, I have to say that I think that you are forgetting that Ren had been shot by Chewbacca and was still bleeding pretty good when he fought both Finn and Rey in Episode 7.
I think that that was definitely a contributing factor in why Finn got that 1 good shot on him when he fought him and 1 of the reasons why Rey beat him when he fought her.
Pretty sure it was the software upgrade she got mid fight which patched her inferior combat skills she got from the Force that helped her beat Kylo in that fight, considering they didn't bother to actually show him weakening in the fight prior to that moment and she injures him further literally seconds after getting the patch.
Him actually weakening and Rey using it to her advantage drawing the fight out longer until adrenaline and anger couldn't overcome his blood loss to allow Rey the advantage would have been good, would show her smarts, keep Kylo dangerous and such, instead they did what they did...oh well.
