Obi Wan fighting Jango 1-on-1 isn't a good argument for why Ben should be able to take on half a dozen armed people. It would have been cool to see him use his Force powers, but I'm certainly not holding it against the movie for not showing it. I'm with the other guy, I think it's a bizarre complaint. It's only of the staples of the series, I can't single out this movie for continuing that.
Additionally, Obi Wan went for that lightsaber the SECOND he got the chance.
