I disagree, I think that it is done in the right fashion and with the right writing and directing then it could work.
I don't know what the "right" fashion is. Also, wasn't the whole point of the sequel trilogy that your blood doesn't define your destiny? Certainly that was the point of her finding out Palps is her granddaddy. So, by having her turn, aren't you completely shitting on the message of the ST you claim to love so much? Isn't that already addressed in the OT? Luke is the son of Darth Vader and resists the temptation. Obviously being related doesn't turn Luke to the dark side.
