Looking at the above -
I don't mean to speak badly about the deceased - and I'm not - RIP - and this really has nothing to do with the original topic - but i just saw his name above
but it baffles me how some Phils fans here regard Halladay as one of the greatest phillies ever.
to me he was a Blue Jay
he also never won a World Series here - he came after 2008 - when we had high expectations and expected them to be a Dynasty - they fell short in 3 consecutive playoffs (funnest time in my life)
he also fell off the face of the Earth his final year (was sad to watch) - he was actually getting booed off the mound - was a tough watch - one of his final outings he got shellacked and if memory serves couldn't make it out of the first inning after giving up a ton of runs - this after laying egg after egg - when Manual took the ball for him - he literally got booed off the field - it was a very tough watch.
the way he died - i have a sense of compassion for people with drug/alcohol problems - people going through depression/anxiety - but to live that dangerously with the plane when he had a family - i don't know - when people talk about him here I'm kind of apathetic when some regard him as a God.
Think I'd prefer to watch a Cole Hamels or a game that Cliff Lee dominated before Halladay from that fun era
