That’s... kinda true. Not to nitpick, but Leia did know of Kenobi. Likely through many stories from her father. And she considered him a trusted friend even though (as far as we know) she never met him. Remember the line “Help me ObiWan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.” Yeah, but would you name your kid after a parent's friend they knew over 2 decades ago? Also, she knew him as Obi Wan. Naming him Ben sounds like something Luke thought to do (he did name his son Ben in the books). Also, also, from the retcon of Rogue One, she had to have just learned about him when Bale Organa sent her to meet him. She couldn't have known he was on Tatooine until just then. Okay. I agree with all of that. She likely didn’t know where he was, but she obviously knew of him. I mean, you don’t send your daughter on some secret mission for someone she’s never heard of before. And she doesn’t call someone her only hope if she doesn’t have some previous regard, respect, or confidence in him. I mean she made use of Han and Luke’s help escaping the Death Star. And the idea of her calling one of them her only hope is laughable.
