Egh, no thanks. Mitchum was fantastic as Harry Powell but that's not my primary concern about a remake. Laughton's direction and style gave it this weird dreamlike atmosphere and the imagery was eerie and spooky like an old-timey (even for 1955) German Expressionist movie. Maybe twenty years ago someone like David Fincher or Tim Burton would had been a solid choice for a remake. But now I'm not so sure.
