As much as I have been concerned for self isolation and imposed/forced isolation of people from before the time deaths really took off, I can't understand many people using bad arguments when talking about deaths in the USA. The moment USA's figures rose above Italy many people made that as a point but that should not be a point. USA is not faring worse than Italy/UK/Belgium the 3 countries with worst death rates. Total number of deaths should not be a measuring criteria because population of countries differ significantly. Death rate or deaths per million of population should be the measuring criteria when comparing nations. I've always tracked deaths/1M but the total deaths is the easier to digest number, so that's what people will fixate on. It's another example of the media melodramatizing this. Like when they announce total number of infections to date with ominous music. With no mention of how many of those have recovered. And how many of those will never need to go to the hospital. Yeah, it's bad. But according to the media, they act like it's gonna kill more than 50 percent of the human population.
