In this episode, Johnny gets hung up on finding out the ending of an episode of Adam-12 they were watching when they got called out for an emergency. This is curious given that Milner and McCord appeared as Malloy and Reed in the pilot for the series.
Perhaps with this particular show
it was a last minute change with the name 
.
. It seems these program creators etc. tend to do that a lot
especially on classic shows from back then
( they probably think us viewers won't notice
after the pilot episodes - but we always do ! 
) .
) . I also really like " crossover episodes " especial with
one fine show to it's spin-off show
most excellent indeed here

have done that in the past as well

even if it's only for an episode or two .
