French filmmaker Sarah Maldoror has left us at the age of 90, on April 13th, complications from COVID-19.
Maldoror was one of the first women to direct a feature film in Africa; therefore, her work is often included in studies of the role of African women in African cinema. She herself was of French West Indies descent.
