Pele, then Zizu and then Messi. Legacy, I'd go Pele-Zidane-Maradona. Realistic who was best, I have to take Messi. The only thing he's not accomplished was dragged his Argentinian slugs past the likes of Brazil, Spain, & France of his era. It's not like Messi is losing while Norway, USA, &/or Iran are winning titles. Hindsight, he should've probably gamed the FIFA system & declared for Spain. He would be the greatest with daylight ahead of Pele. Messi would struggle in a more physical league whereas a player like Zidane wouldn't, Zidane also more a team player and influence I believe. Pele did things with a heavy old fashioned ball rather than the beach balls they have nowadays. Messi does fail to impress at international level and you can't blame it all on his team mates. Certainly the best of the post Zizu era though although when I've seen him lately he's really drifted in and out of games.
