this day in 1950 Vin Scully announced his first Dodgers game

Tough choice between Sculley and Costa, but I lean more towards Costa's style. One thing about Sculley is so great that even by himself at the mic without the color commentator, he can make watching the game interesting. Gary Thorne is also great at calling the game.

Not sure if anyone outside of New York heard of Howie Rose. He used to call the NY Rangers hockey games. Now he calls the Mets games. I think he is one of the best in calling the game. Because of him, it is more fun listening to the Mets game on the radio than the Yankees game.
