Tough choice between Sculley and Costa, but I lean more towards Costa's style. One thing about Sculley is so great that even by himself at the mic without the color commentator, he can make watching the game interesting. Gary Thorne is also great at calling the game. Not sure if anyone outside of New York heard of Howie Rose. He used to call the NY Rangers hockey games. Now he calls the Mets games. I think he is one of the best in calling the game. Because of him, it is more fun listening to the Mets game on the radio than the Yankees game. Rose is fantastic. I was going to mention him but thought it would make me look like a homer. The Mets really know how to pick their announcers. There were Bob Murphy & Ed Coleman on radio, and now Howie Rose on radio and Ed Coleman go to the TV. I remember i enjoyed watching Kiner's Korner back in the days. Even the television crew is great with Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling. The Yankees can't compete regarding announcers. I have listen to the announcers from other teams on MLB audio or MLB Network. None that I found so far can match the Mets crew.
Edit: I forgot to mention Tim McCarver.
