I love the Monday through Friday Perry showcase on Me.
Black and white it may be, it's one of the network's "signature" series. It was a wonderful show. The plots are mostly pretty good, although the episodes are so densely plotted that they seldom develop into being real stories about real people. People often as not behave more to type than character.
PM really wasn't a dramatic show, like Route 66 or The Fugitive; and they do edit episodes on Me, though, with a character one remembers having walked out of a building, and down a flight of stairs to either their car or a bus, in one broadcast, next it's shown one sees the person at home having a cocktail with his wife (whatever).
They like to make room for more commercials on MeTV. I rather resent this "condensation" of episodes of shows, which often offer interesting glimpses of an America that's largely vanished; and of course the dialing of telephones, the changing of hairstyles for women, and for men, the suits and ties; and if its the Fifties, men and women wore hats way more often than today.
