Not Mr Seaver. Here's a hint that should give it away.... After the way the 1986 season ended for the Sox, this is the last guy you would expect to start the 1987 season, but there he was. Not Bob Stanley or Calvin Schiraldi. God no Ding Ding Ding Ding! Score one for the GoodMan! Yes, believe it or not, Bob Stanley, the guy on the mound when the Bill Buckner play happened, started Opening Day 1987 for the Sox in Milwaukee (and got shelled of course) Oil Can was hurt, Clemens had held out that spring so wasn't ready yet, and the Sox were saving Bruce Hurst for the home opener later that week.
