Religion is a human creation. It depends on how people do it.
I think to insult it so it hurts people's feelings or to bully others is wrong. Some people use religion to bully others - the ones who say convert to my religion (or stop being a sinner) or you will burn in hell.
Some film such as Pass the Ammo or Glory Glory can be clever satires on religious institutions without being hurtful. Some films such as Hail Satan highlight some who use religion as a form of protest.
