They were very, very strict about not letting ANY non-native people on the land. I actually had just been watching a documentary on this because they were talking about the new struggle of flying supplies in. There's no hospital. The primary way in and out is flying and it's extremely remote, very close knit, tightly knit. I am very surprised they actually allowed someone to fly into their village/community. The doc I watched specifically mentioned they couldn't afford the risk to their people which is why restrictions were so rigid. This is odd. That's every other village in this area. Kotzebue has more than 3,000 people so our rules default to whatever the state is mandating.
