1)The American (he's not playing his usual suave self in this one and is his #1 movie straight up if you ask me. I like his more low key/paranoid type of character here) 2)The Descendants (this is a bit outside of the norm for him to and is a strong movie to) 3)Up in the Air (he fits this role well to but it's a bit more inline with his typical suave self) 4)O Brother, Where Art Thou? (this is outside of his typical performance even though the characters are a little over the top)
NOTE: those four movies are also his top 4 movies straight up if you ask me.
but I would imagine a good portion of the general public would affiliate him with Ocean's Eleven as in that he does what he does best which is playing his usual suave self. but speaking of that stuff... on IMDb the movies they list under the 'Known for' section (i.e. Michael Clayton/Up in the Air/The Ides of March/From Dusk Till Dawn ) I am confident some of those are not as known/popular as others are. for example... there is simply no way movies like Michael Clayton/The Ides of March are more affiliated with George Clooney than movies like Ocean's Eleven etc with the general public. because I notice IMDb messes this 'Known for' stuff up a fair amount on random name actors.
p.s. the OP forgot to list... O Brother, Where Art Thou.
