Even today he acknowledges how much he hammed it up back then. If you've ever seen Fanboys, despite it being a movie about a Star Wars fan, he makes a guest appearance as himself, and it's brilliant.

I can still watch them today, and I know how schlocky it is, how camp, but that's part of the charm. A lot of these older, classic TV shows are campy, and some of us love them even more for how goofy they are. Look at how silly they are.
