Star Trek (original series)

Now I'm watching Catspaw where there's a wizard and a cat that transforms into Sylvia, some type of super powered being going into female form and cat form. But what's odd is that her transformation into human form using the "transmuter" seems to come as a big surprise to her partner, yet this whole planet has only two inhabitants, and he knows she's some type of feline shape shifter.
