It should be said that some people belive it was a publicitthaty stunt and that they took a dive, but personally i think that its just an excuse they used
From the accounts, Ruth was pissed about striking out. And Lou Gehrig was one the most honest people to play the game. I can't see him doing that
I did not mean that Ruth or Gehrig used it as an excuse but other people like commentators and people who watched.
