people claim that the 90s was an "awful time for horror" or "one of the worst times for horror". Really? I feel there were quite a few good so called "horror" movies released in the 90s
1. Jacob's Ladder
2. Misery
3. Tremors
4. Cape Fear
5. The Silence of the Lambs
6. Scream and Scream 2 7. Arachnophobia 8. Bram Stokers Dracula
9. Wes Craven's New Nightmare 10. Cronos
11. In The Mouth Of Madness
12. Demon Knight
13. Se7en
14. The Frighteners
15. From Dusk Till Dawn
16. Cube
17. The Devil's Advocate
18. Event Horizon
19. Mimic
20. Audition
21. Sleepy Hollow
22. Stir of Echoes
23. The Sixth Sense
24. Deep Rising 25. Urban Legend
26. Candyman
27. I Know What You Did Last Summer
28. Fire in the Sky
obviously some of these films are better than others (Silence and SE7en) and some may not be more comedic than others but I'd say they fit under the general "horror" Labell
I'd say it is better overall than the 80s (some good films but mostly slasher sequels), the 2000s (mostly torture porn) and even now (some strong films like The Conjuring and It but too many pretentious, visually ugly films (cough Get Out, It Comes at Night, Us cough)
