Fantastic film! Very underrated! Pfeiffer and Day-Lewis are fantastic! Even Wynonna shines! So true and I don't like Day Lewis. Literary period films put many people off, because many can require a lot more concentration than your average popcorn flick. Like the best period films, the secret is in the sauce and the devil is in the details and the substance can taste exquisite. Remains Of The Day from the same year is just as fine and either of these films were worthy of Best Picture of 93', over Spielberg's over-rated and bland holocaust epic.
Schindlers list was a very good film i think it deserved best picture. but The Age of Innocence should have been nominated, it was a wonderful film the first Scorsesse did for hos female audiences like a reward for handling so much violence and murderes in his past films hehe. i haven't seen remains of the day but if you say its one of the best period pieces im gonna see it, since im a fan of period pieces the good and the bad ones and even the Sappy ones like The Other Boleyn Girl
