I've never heard that John Miles song, but I don't mind, as I've allowed myself to be deeply prejudiced against him for the past 45 years. His atrocity Music was probably the first song I ever really detested! Honestly I couldn't tell you another John Miles song. I was starting to begin my love affair with Punk and had enough money for three 7" singles. The plan was obviously to buy 3 Punkers, but they only had the 2 I mentioned so I asked the guy behind the counter if he could recommend anything lively with guitars, and so Slow Down came my way. I liked it, haven't heard it for years but it's pacey with rocking arrangements. If I'm feeling bold at some point I'll check it out, if only to assure myself that it can't possible be as bad as Music. The snippet of which I played earlier (from Carl's link) confirmed that I was right when I was ten, and I'm still right! |
