England: What is their greatest performance since 1966?

I think there where to reasons, Germany was in the middle of a generation change on the national team and the English players played pretty much perfect game.


The German national team between 2000 and 2005 where not very good, And yes i know they did reach the world cup final in 2002, but the German national team was not very strong in that period. I mean in Euro 2000 and 2004 they got knocked out in the group stage.

It was actually a pretty weak German team compared to other generation of German teams that reach the final of the 2002 world cup.
