Leftovers - I was originally planning on just discussing the shows after their season is up, but I can't contain myself. Leftovers is on another level. Watch this as soon as possible and be blown away by a story that while not entirely understandable at first, is hard to look away from. It is quite the achievement.
Not a lot has been top caliber these past few weeks. In fact, as far as movies I watched two mediocre ones yesterday.
However, I am going to give props to one of those mediocre movies for one particular reason.
Spectre - I avoided this movie for a while because I heard it was bad and it isn't really that good story wise. I couldn't even follow it and lost interest in it pretty quickly. In every way story wise, it was the lesser of the previous films including Quantum of Solace.
That said it gets a 100% perfect score in visual style. This is by far the most beautiful Bond film I have ever seen. From the opening tracking shot to the pretty spectacular explosions, everything was just superbly filmed. Kudos to Mendes and his film crew.
