With the exception of fleecing the White Sox for Tatis Jr, the best thing that has happened to the Padres in the last decade is getting Don Orsillo.
Fun fact: when he was a Red Sox broadcaster, his kids went to school where my sister-in-law teaches in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Now that he's out here, his kids go to school where my wife teaches in Coronado, California.
