Wow, I'm actually watching the very, VERY first episode ever. Season 1, Episode 1: The New Housekeeper.
They had a housekeeper named Rose who left them to get married. Andy was performing the ceremony, and they went away on their honeymoon. Andy announced the arrival of Aunt Bea, and Opie is upset at this Aunt Bea person intruding, and vows he won't love anyone as much as he loves Rose.
Also, I was wondering why Barney got the job as deputy, being as he's such a goofy numbskull. Come to find out, he's Andy's cousin!? Did anyone else know that?
In the beginning, Barney's trying so hard to be really professional and he's actually pretty courteous and determined to prove himself, saluting Andy and everything. My goodness they're so young!
