I feel largely the same. I wouldn't say I hated it as much as Zombie's twin catastrophes but I thought it was pretty inept. I was hugely disappointed when I saw it on big screen and actually thought it was even worse when I gave it a second viewing about a year later.
I'd much rather dust off HALLOWEEN II (1981) to watch an ongoing Myers story.
No doubt I'll go see HALLOWEEN KILLS when it hits theatres but it wouldn't put me out in the slightest if that's a year away.............or ten!
