Eh, I wasn't planning on going to the theater until next year any way. Putting concerns about Covid-19 itself aside, the behavior of a small but annoying segment of the population as a result of the pandemic is more than I care to deal with at this time. I work a public-facing job and the 1% of dickheads who think they're making a point (other than the point that they're an asshole) by loudly and aggressively refusing to wear a mask in consideration for others is a big enough turnoff for me to just stay inside until further notice. I hear ya. People are acting absurdly out there. My preferred theater is an Alamo Drafthouse location, and people are generally a bit more respectful there and a little more serious about movies. They rolled out a whole plan for safety and sanitation for when they open, but who the hell knows when that will be? I was looking forward to getting back there for a lot of stuff, but I appreciate that they're proactive and compliant and not rushing. I do wonder why they haven't tried to throw up some more drive in screens. Especially at a Drafthouse where they have a full kitchen and bar. Lots of places are seeing some success with that and yet there are big movoe theater parking lots that are just being left open and not serving any purpose.
