What's discouraging about this next one is that Carpenter and co. are hyping up that it's going to have the largest body count. That's really not in line of what they set out to accomplish with this current canon of Michael. What you get from that is basically characters with very little screen time and development who become red shirts for Michael. That's not really what Michael's character is. I'd rather have a small kill count of characters you at least spent a little time with onscreen before whacking them. I don't know when the last time you saw the 2018 movie was, but they're kinda already there. Consider the scene of Michael literally going house to house killing nameless ladies. Some characters had a smidge of development (kid likes ballet! Cop #2 likes brownies for dinner!) but Michael spent hours stalking Laurie and her gang before making a move in the original. 2018 Michael was Jason Voorhees in a Shatner mask, and that film had one of the highest bodycounts already. This new one sounds like more of the same.
