Anything is better than Prometheus, but I think Hollywood's go-to writers for science fiction are all shit. This has been true for a long time. You'd think Hollywood would start mining books, GOOD books like Iain M. Banks' stuff or Alastair Reynolds' work, not lukewarm bullshit like The Expanse.
