I put a mask on when I get a bus because that is the rule and I don't want to give the driver a hard time. And then I sit down and take it off because like a lot of oldies I am more likely to die of the asphyxiation than the Chinese flu.
It is all balls anyway. When I was a lad the UK was swept by the Asian flu and my school was treated with some sort of medication that was probably Galloway's Cough Mixture and which was handed out by the school nurse. Who was smoking a Balkan Sobranie. And who looked dead foxy and efficient. None of us dared get sick after that.
The problem with this current flu out break is that the doctors are as scared as the patients so lots of folk are losing faith in the quacks and turning up their toes accordingly.
