Barney Miller. To this day I still find it tough to watch the final episode, and I always tear up every time I do. Next to that, MASH...and then MTM and the final installment of The Carol Burnett Show. If you don't lose it when Carol sings "I'm so glad we had this time together..." for the very last time, you have no heart. Thank goodness for re-runs channels, eh ? Back when these were finales they really WERE the final time we would be with these people. And oddly enough, it was actually some years after Barney Miller went off the network airwaves before it finally turned up in syndication, at least in my neck of the woods. I definitely have made up for lost time in watching the repeats just about as faithfully as I did the first time around  ! |
