Sure, but I am saying that they could have easily made a good sequel and leave Part 1 the way it is. I was actually fixing the problems with Part 2 in my head while watching the movie. The narrative structure of the 2 movies has nothing to do with why I dislike the sequel. of course I agree with that since the source material is good. But the ultimate flaw of the movie is execution which writing would have a part in. But writing isn’t what made the ending horrible, the opening hate crime confusing, and timing off, or the effects bad. The movie was finally off and that’s largely because, unlike the first films overall adherence to the source material, the second one goes off the rails to be more akin to a blockbuster movie. Cool, then we seem to agree. The strange thing is that the jokes in the movie seem to almost imply that the director or writer thinks the ending of the book is bad and that there is no way to make a good movie with it. I think that they could have just not made a sequel at all and the first movie would stand on it's own for the most part. They could have never made Part 2 and I wouldn't have cared.
