From what I read he had little to do with it. He was a glorified Intern helping out. Kids from a Floridaian University made the film.
He did direct it though. And write it. When I've heard him talk about making the movie it seemed that he was making it but using the students as his crew. So he still is to blame if it's as bad as it looks.
